The Capital City Podgorica, in cooperation with the Cortex ICT cluster and the Logate Institute for Information Technologies, organized a summer programming school for elementary school students, which was held in the premises of the Birziminium Hub. The programming school lasted for a month, and during that period the elementary school students had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the basics of algorithms, as well as in the field of programming in the JavaScript – game programming course, and to present their video games by the end of the training.

On the occasion of the successful completion of classes within the Summer School, 20 elementary school students from Podgorica received a diploma. During the presentation of the diplomas, the children did not hide their delight that they had such an opportunity to acquire digital skills, and they gave a firm word that they will deepen their interest in programming and continue their training even after completing the course.

The director of the Logate Institute and course lecturer, Goran Šuković, said that he is satisfied with working with children and that he sees future successful programmers among them.

The Secretary for support to the business community of the Capital City Podgorica, Zekerija Fetić, expressed satisfaction at another successful collaboration with members of the ICT Cortex association and pointed out that this is just one of a series of activities that the Capital City Podgorica strives to awaken interest in digital skills, both among children and young people, and among adults.
