The Capital City Podgorica received a BFC certificate, which was confirmed by the final Verification Report during the last supervisory inspection, which gave Podgorica the status of a certified local government that built a favorable business environment.

Namely, the Capital City met the evaluation requirements for ten very demanding criteria and more than 60 sub-criteria, which was presented in the final report, which resulted in a score of 84%. Most of the criteria referred to the work of the organizational unit in charge of local economic development, strategic planning, the existence of the Business Council and its transparent operation, procedures for issuing building permits, possession of promotional materials for investment potential, information on budget and local taxes, financial and non-financial support to entrepreneurs, etc.

This process was managed by the Office of the City Manager Marjan Junčaj, with a great contribution from the Bureau for Support of the Business Community of the Capital City. After fulfilling the criteria and obtaining the certificate, Juncaj said that it was another confirmation of the capital’s many years of work on creating a favorable business environment and stressed that Podgorica, as a financially stable system, will continue to work on attracting investments and interested companies that could potentially be partners in the implementation of projects that will enable further development of Podgorica.
