THE CAPITAL CITY PODGORICA ORGANIZED A MEETING OF CITY MANAGERS OF MONTENEGRO; AGREED INTENSIFICATION OF COOPERATION

The City Manager of the Capital City Podgorica, Marjan Junčaj, MSc in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro, organized a meeting with the city managers of the Old Royal Capital Cetinje and the municipalities of Andrijevica, Berane, Budva, Gusinje, Herceg Novi, Kotor, Kolašin, Nikšić, Mojkovac, Plav, Pljevlja and Rožaje.

The manager of the Capital City Podgorica, Junčaj, pointed out that this meeting is a cornerstone for further cooperation between city managers, and that he is looking forward to upcoming gatherings and exchange of experiences that can significantly contribute to the further development of all municipalities in Montenegro. At the meeting, an initiative was launched to establish the Association of City Managers, which would significantly deepen the cooperation between the local governments of Montenegro.

The meeting was also attended by the chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Romania in Montenegro, Radu Gorincioi, the president of the National Association of City Managers of Romania, Marin Florea, and the regional director of ICMA Europe – The International City/County Management Association, Peter Agh, and the experiences of European Union countries were also discussed, such as and local experiences of city managers in Montenegro. On that occasion, Florea and Agh presented the functioning of the Association of City Managers in Romania, and proposed the formation of this network of city managers in Montenegro through cooperation with the Union of Municipalities.
