The manager of the Capital City Podgorica, Marjan Junčaj, hosted a Singaporean investor, Dr. Sergej Belousov, co-founder and executive director of the multinational data protection company “Acronis”, which is interested in investing in Montenegro. The meeting was attended by the associates of Mr. Bell, Robert Schelgel, Andrey Vlasov, Oznur Zer, Nick Dobrovolskiy, Bojana Milošević, as well as the director of the Investment Agency of Montenegro, Mr. Mladen Grgić.
Acronis employs over 2,000 people worldwide, and its products are available in 26 languages in over 150 countries. The company deals with cyber security solutions and they belong to the so-called unicorn companies that are worth over a billion. They have a serious list of clients, among which are the most famous football clubs (Inter, Manchester, etc., in the United States the famous Red Sox, then Formula 1, etc.)
Also, Mr. Bell founded the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology in 2019 in Switzerland. The Schaffhausen Institute of Technology is an international research university for the selected fields of computer science, physics and technology transformation.
Mr. Bell is extremely influential in the IT community, helping a lot of innovation activities and investing in education. The topics of the meeting were related to the field of education, as well as the construction of a research and development center and office space for over 1000 employees.
In order to adequately valorize investment potentials and overall socio-economic development, city manager Junčaj presented numerous opportunities for investment, as well as cooperation through the private-public partnership model. He pointed out that Capital City Podgorica has significant development potential, and that the possibility of investment is certainly in the interest of economic valorization and the creation of new jobs.
Manager Junčaj concluded that Podgorica is recognized as an attractive destination for new investments, and that the current city administration has gained a reputation as a reliable and quality partner for cooperation, while representatives of the Acronis group pointed out that they are in the process of making an investment decision.
